4.32.010 - Intent.

It is the intent of this chapter to provide an alternate procedure in addition to the procedures provided in the Government Code. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent the board from following the provisions of the Government Code relating to leasing county property.

4.32.020 - Procedure.

A. Should the board of supervisors find that countyowned property which it intends to lease has an estimated monthly rental not to exceed four hundred dollars, the board of supervisors may lease county property by following the procedures specified in this chapter.

B. The board shall cause to be published for one time either a classified ad or notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the area where the property to be leased is located, stating that the board will receive proposals to lease the property on a nonrenewable basis for a specified period which shall not exceed one year, and the minimum rental which the board will accept.

C. The board shall fix a time not less than five days after the notice or classified ad is published in which it will receive sealed proposals for leasing countyowned property.

D. Upon opening the bids, the board of supervisors shall either accept the highest bid or reject all bids.

E. However, should the highest bid exceed five hundred dollars per month, the board shall not have the authority to accept that bid.
