Tehama County Municipal Code Ch. 15.04 Building Code

This chapter shall be known as the "Tehama County building code."

The purpose of this code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures within this jurisdiction and certain equipment specifically regulated herein.

The 2022 California Building Code, Title 24, Part 2 of the California Code of Regulations, a portion of the California Building Standards Code, as defined in the California Health and Safety Code Section 18901 et seq., (hereinafter referred to as the "state code") and any rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, incorporating the International Building Code, 2022 Edition, as referenced in and adopted pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Sections 17922 and 18935, (hereinafter referred to as the "IBC"), and the Appendix Chapters C, I, and J, are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference herein. Except as otherwise provided by this chapter and Chapter 15.02 of the Tehama County Code, all construction, alteration, moving, demolition, repair, and use of any building or structure within the county jurisdiction shall be made in conformance with the state code and any rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, including the IBC, and the specified appendices.

There is one copy of said code on file in the office of the building official for use and examination by the public.
