§ 1.16.010. Imprisonment for violation of ordinance—Imprisonment in County Jail.

Any person sentenced to imprisonment for the violation of an ordinance may be imprisoned in the County Jail of the county of Lassen, state of California.

The chief of police of the city is authorized to require any person who is imprisoned for the violation of any city ordinance to perform labor on the public works or ways or public property within the city and to require such person to engage in the prevention and suppression of forest, brush and grass fires upon lands within the city or upon lands adjacent to the city where the suppression of fires would afford protection to lands within the city. For such purposes the chief of police may remove such persons from the County Jail for not more than eight hours in any one day, Sundays and legal holidays excepted.
