§ 17.28.010. Proposed use conformance.

No building permit shall be issued for a use of land or to erect, alter, install, or otherwise establish any structure or other object which would not conform to the regulations prescribed in this title.

§ 17.28.020. Increase in nonconformity prohibited.

No building permit shall be issued that would allow the establishment or creation of an airport hazard or permit a nonconforming use or structure to become a greater hazard to air navigation than it was on February 2, 1978, or on the effective date of any amendment to this title.

§ 17.28.030. Tree trimming.

Any person owning or in possession of real property shall keep all trees trimmed to a height not exceeding any of the height limits set forth in this title. Nonconforming trees in existence on February 2, 1978, shall be kept trimmed at their existing height, and if removed or cut back, shall not be allowed to grow above said height or the applicable height limit, whichever is higher.

§ 17.28.040. Hazard abatement.

Every airport hazard shall be deemed to be a dangerous building or structure subject to the abatement procedures set forth in the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code adopted by Chapter 16.24, except that every airport hazard which is an immediate danger to flying aircraft may be summarily abated. The provisions of this title may be enforced by the county director of public works.
