St. Helena Municipal Code Ch. 10.08 Speed Limits

Sections:

• 10.08.010 Prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour on city streets. 10.08.020 Establishment of prima facie speed limits on certain streets by ordinance.

• 10.08.030 Establishment of prima facie speed limits on certain streets by resolution.

• A. Except as may otherwise be determined and declared pursuant to this chapter, the prima facie speed limit on all public streets of the city is declared to be twenty-five (25) miles per hour.

• B. The prima facie speed limit on Main Street (State Highway 29) shall be as established by the state.

• C. Except as may otherwise be determined and declared pursuant to this code, the prima facie speed limit on private roads open for public use as established in Section 10.20.020 shall be twenty-five (25) miles per hour. (Ord. 19-8 § 3 (Exh. A); Ord. 06-10 § 2; prior code § 10.8)

The prima facie speed limit on public streets and private roads open for public use may be established by ordinance of the city council of the city of St. Helena in accordance with California Vehicle Code Sections 22357 and 22358. The prima facie speed limit on public streets and private roads open for public use may be established by resolution of the city council of the city of St. Helena in accordance with California Vehicle Code Sections 22357.1, 22358.3 and 22358.4. (Ord. 19-8 § 3 (Exh. A))
