19A.13.5 Filming activities.

(a) It is unlawful for any person to perform any filming activity within a residential zone or within 500 feet thereof on Monday through Friday before 7:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., Saturday before 8:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., and on Sundays and city recognized holidays, as provided in SPMC 19A.13(d), before 8:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

(b) It is unlawful for any person to use any generators, sound amplifying equipment, forklifts, cranes, or any other machinery or equipment, whether such equipment or machinery is manual, gasoline or electric powered or equipment that runs on compressed air, in the performance of, or in conjunction with, filming within a residential zone or within 500 feet thereof on Monday through Friday before 8:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., Saturday before 9:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., and Sundays and city recognized holidays before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

(c) Filming hours and the hours for the use of machinery and equipment for filming may only be extended beyond the hours provided in subsections (a) and (b) of this section if approved pursuant to the city’s film policy, as adopted by resolution of the city council.

(d) For the purposes of this section, “filming activity” is activity requiring a film permit and defined to include, but is not limited to, activities related to the setup for and engagement in commercial filming, videotaping or still photography. (Ord. No. 2405, § 2, 2025.)
