2-400 Board established
As authorized by California Constitution, Article XIII, Section 16 and implemented by the Legislature (Revenue and Taxation Code Sections 1601 through 1645.5) and the State Board of Equalization (California Code of Regulations, Title 18, Sections 301 through 326), there is established the Solano County assessment appeals board for the purpose of equalizing the values of all property on the local assessment roll by adjusting individual assessments.

2-401 Composition
The assessment appeals board shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the board of supervisors at large from residents of Solano County. Approval of each member shall be by a majority vote. The board of supervisors shall appoint at least two (2) alternate members. Members shall have the minimum qualifications as set forth in Revenue and Taxation Code Section 1624.05 et seq., or their successors.

2-402 Compensation
Members and alternates of the board shall be compensated for attendance at regular and special meetings, and for mileage reimbursement at a rate to be established by the board of supervisors.

2-403 Counsel
The office of county counsel shall serve as legal counsel to the board.
