12.28.010 - Uniform system established.¶
A uniform system of house numbering in the city is established, such plan or system being as follows:
The common point of beginning shall be at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard in said City, the numbers commencing with number 1 and each twelve and one-half (12½) feet of frontage to have a number, the location of the front door of each house to bear the number of said twelve and one-half (12½) frontage nearest to which said front door as located, the said system of numbering being more fully set forth in the Official House Numbering Map No. 2, heretofore adopted by said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, which said Official House Numbering Map No. 2 is hereby referred to and made a part hereof.

12.28.020 - Number to be supplied by director of public works.¶
The director of public works is instructed to furnish to all owners of houses in the city the proper number for each house, and shall issue a certificate signed by the director of public works giving the proper number thereof free of cost to such house owner, and said number, after such certificate is so issued, shall be the official number for such house.

12.28.030 - House owner duty.¶
It is the duty of each house owner to place conspicuously the official number of the house owned by his/her in front of the house, the numbers to be at least three inches in height, the numbers to be so placed within ninety days from the date of the adoption of the provisions codified in this chapter.

12.28.040 - Front and rear numbering—Required when.¶
For the purpose of identification, all buildings located in a Zone "C" or "M" (commercial or manufacturing district) as such zones or districts are or shall be defined in any comprehensive zoning ordinance of the city, shall be numbered in the front and rear thereof as hereinafter provided. Such number or numbers shall be placed and maintained either at the rear entrance or on the side of the building facing the alley in such a manner that the same may be plainly seen from the alley or back of such building. Such number or numbers shall be not less than four inches in height, and not less than one inch wide.
