Selma Municipal Code Ch. 3 Public Works Department

The Public Works Department shall be under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent, who shall be responsible to the City Administrator. The Superintendent's duties shall be as follows:

(A) To formulate and recommend to the City Administrator policies and procedures for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, repair and improvement of all public works and places owned by the City, except as otherwise provided in this Code. To administer such policies and procedures when approved by the City Administrator and to conduct such activities for the City.

(B) To provide such technical services to other departments as the City Administrator may direct. (Ord. 810, 2-19-80)

(C) He shall proceed as directed by law on all matters requiring his official action.

(D) He shall inspect all construction work done by or for the City and require compliance with all contracts made in connection therewith. He shall have subject to his approval all progress payments of construction work done for the City.

(E) He shall act as Superintendent of Streets in all matters required of that position.

(F) He shall prepare or cause to be prepared all official maps of the City and shall keep and maintain such records as are necessary for the fulfillment of his function. (1963 Code)

(H) He shall administer the weed abatement activities of the City. (1963 Code)

(I) To recommend to the City Administrator a schedule of fees and rates to be charged for services performed by the Department.

(J) To perform such other duties as may be required by the City Administrator or the provisions of this Code. (Ord. 810, 2-19-80)
