4-75.010 - Definition.

For the purposes of this Article, the words "household sale" mean the offering for sale or sale of, and display of personal property to the general public on premises devoted primarily to residential use. Household sale includes that class of event usually referred to as garage sale, moving sale, patio sale, yard sale, lawn sale, neighborhood sale, or rummage sale. The term household sale is not limited to sales or offerings of household items.

4-75.020 - Frequency restricted.

It is unlawful for the same person or persons to conduct more than two household sales within the City in any twelve month period. It is unlawful for more than two household sales to be conducted at the same location within the City in any twelve month period regardless of who conducts the sale. It is unlawful for any household sale to be conducted for a greater period of time than two consecutive weekends of two days each.

4-75.030 - Commercial transactions prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to sell at any household sale any article of personal property acquired for the purpose of sale.

4-75.040 - Sign requirements.

One on-site sign may be used to advertise such a sale, which sign shall be displayed only at the location of the sale, and only during the days of dates and hours of such a sale. Such a sign shall not exceed four square feet in area, and shall not exceed four feet in height.
