Sec. 20-17. - Establishment.

There is hereby established, pursuant to section 225 and section 233 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, the juvenile justice delinquency prevention commission of Santa Barbara County referred to hereinafter in this Article V as the "Commission."

Sec. 20-18. - Powers and duties.

The commission shall have all the powers and duties which may now or hereafter be conferred by sections 228, 229, 229.5, 230, 233 and 234 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, and any other applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and any amendments and successors thereto, except as the same may from time to time be legally increased or limited by order of the board of supervisors of the County of Santa Barbara.

Sec. 20-19. - Membership.

The members of the commission shall be the members of the juvenile justice commission appointed by the superior court as of the effective date of this article. The number of members, terms of office, filling of vacancies, and other provisions for members of the commission shall be pursuant to section 225 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, and any amendments and successors thereto.

Sec. 20-20. - Expenses.

The members of the commission shall receive as compensation the sum of fifty dollars for each meeting attended. Compensation shall not be paid, however, for attendance at more than one meeting per calendar month.

Sec. 20-21. - Funds and staff.

The board of supervisors may provide the commission with county funds, and the commission may receive funds from any governmental or nongovernmental source and expend them as provided by section 233 of the Welfare and Institutions Code and any amendments and successors thereto or by any other applicable state or federal laws. The board of supervisors may also direct any county department to provide necessary staff services to the commission.
