Sec. 70-26. - Through streets and stop intersections.

(a) Whenever any ordinance or resolution of the city designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a through street or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the city engineer shall erect and maintain stop signs as follows:

(1) A stop sign shall be erected on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated and at those entrances or other intersections where a stop is required.

(2) Each such sign shall conform with and shall be placed as provided in the Vehicle Code of the state.

(b) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance to the intersections of the streets described as through streets in any ordinance or resolution of the city.

(c) When signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance to those intersections so marked by the city engineer.

Sec. 70-27. - Vehicles with cleats, flanges, etc., which could damage streets.

It shall be unlawful to operate any motor or other vehicle on or over any public paved street of the city, which vehicle shall have any block, stud, flange, cleat, ridge, bead or any other protuberance of metal or wood upon the wheel which projects beyond the tread or friction surface of the tire, but this section shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of tire chains of reasonable proportions on motor vehicles when required for safety because of conditions tending to cause such motor vehicle to slide or skid.

Sec. 70-28. - Skating and skateboarding on sidewalks.

(a) No person shall ride or operate a skateboard on any sidewalk in the city except as specifically permitted in this section.

(b) Juveniles under the age of 16 years, exercising due care and giving pedestrians the right-of- way, may ride and operate skateboards upon the sidewalks, except such sidewalks as are in front of schools, stores, public buildings, multiple-family residential dwellings, and buildings used for business purposes.

(c) It shall be unlawful to skate upon any sidewalk in the business district of the city.

Sec. 70-29. - Speed limits.

Vehicles shall be operated on the streets of the city in accordance with the schedule of speed limits which is on file and available in the office of the city clerk.

Weight limitations and truck routes are designated for certain streets in the city and a schedule of such streets is on file and available in the city clerk's office.
