Sanger Municipal Code § 2-129 Meetings

It is hereby found, determined, and declared that there is a need for a housing authority to function in the city in accordance with the provisions of the California Health and Safety Code.

The housing authority is hereby established pursuant to Health and Safety Code § 34240 and shall be known as the Sanger Housing Authority. The housing authority is hereby authorized to transact business and exercise its power under provisions of the Code. Specific powers of the housing authority are to:

(1) Provide financing for the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, refinancing or development of dwelling accommodations for persons of low income;

(2) Provide financial assistance for housing projects pursuant to Health and Safety Code § 34312.3 (which permits a housing authority to issue revenue bonds, construction loans, mortgage loans etc. for specific purposes and subject to certain requirements).

Pursuant to the provisions of Health and Safety Code § 34200 the city council is declared the housing authority of the city. The city council is determined to be the commissioners of the housing authority and the mayor to be the chair of the housing authority.

The authority shall conduct its meetings, on an "as needed" basis, on the first and third Thursdays of each month at the hour of 6:00 p.m., in the Council Room of Sanger City Hall, 1700 7th Street, Sanger, California.
