1.04.010 - Penalties for violation.¶
(a) No person shall violate any provisions, or fail to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code. Any person violating any of the provisions, or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code is deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, unless by ordinance it is made an infraction.
(b) Any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the provisions of this code shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
(c) Every violation determined to be an infraction is punishable by a fine of not exceeding fifty dollars for a first violation; a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year; a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year.
(d) Title 25, the mobilehome park rent stabilization ordinance, is exempt from this section.

1.04.020 - Separate offenses.¶
Each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provisions of this code is committed, continued, or permitted by such person, and shall be punishable accordingly.

1.04.030 - Violation of administrative provisions.¶
The violation of any administrative provisions of this code by any officer or employee of the county may be deemed a failure to perform the duties under, or observe the rules and regulations of, the department, office or board, within the meaning of the civil service ordinances and the rules and regulations of the county.

1.04.040 - Nuisance abatement.¶
In addition to the penalties hereinbefore provided, any condition caused or permitted to exist in violation of any of the provisions of this code shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be, by the county, summarily abated as such, and each day such condition continues shall be regarded as a new and separate offense.
