§ 7-4-100. GENERAL.

All entrances from public streets of the City of San Leandro to buildings shall be numbered as hereinafter provided. Each figure of said numbers shall be at least three inches in height and of corresponding width and shall be so placed as to be visible from the street. The appropriate number of any entrance to any building shall be placed thereon within 10 days after the receipt by the owner, occupant, lessee, tenant or sub-tenant of such building of a notice from the Public Works Director of the number or numbers designated for such building; and all numbers other than the number provided for in this Chapter for the respective entrances shall be removed from every building by the owners, occupants, lessees, tenants, or sub-tenants thereof within 10 days from the service of said notice designating the appropriate numbers to be placed thereon. It shall be the duty of the Public Works Director to designate the respective numbers for buildings fronting on streets heretofore laid out or hereafter to be laid out or extended.

§ 7-4-105. SYSTEM OF NUMBERING.

The system or numbering shall be the one shown upon that certain map entitled, "Map of the City of San Leandro, California House Numbers" which said map is hereby adopted.

§ 7-4-110. DESIGNATION OF NUMBERS.

Upon the completion of a building or buildings or alterations thereto changing entrances, it shall be unlawful for the owners, agents, occupants, tenants, lessees, or sub-lessees to assign or place any number thereon unless the same shall have been officially designated by the Public Works Director for such designation of numbers.

§ 7-4-115. INCORRECT NUMBERS.

In cases wherein incorrect numbers have been placed and remain or shall hereafter be placed on any house or building, the owner, agent, occupant, lessees, tenants, or sub-tenants shall, upon notification by the Public Works Director, correct the number within 10 days after official notification.

§ 7-4-120. UNNUMBERED HOUSES.

In cases where a house remains unnumbered or where a house may have been numbered and the number since lost or destroyed or defaced as to be unidentifiable, the owner, agent, etc., shall cause said house to be numbered in accordance with the official notification of the Public Works Director within 10 days.
