6.60.400 - Downtown entertainment zone defined.¶
For purposes of this chapter, the downtown entertainment zone shall be defined as the area bounded by Route 87, Julian Street, Fourth Street and Interstate 280.

6.60.410 - Downtown entertainment zone policing program defined.¶
The downtown entertainment zone policing program is that on-duty police patrol services program operated by the police department relating to public entertainment in the downtown entertainment zone and the public safety problems anticipated by the concentration of such businesses in that area.

6.60.420 - Days of operation of the policing program.¶
The days of operation of the downtown entertainment zone policing program shall be Thursday through Sunday.

6.60.430 - Notice of change in operation of premises.¶
A. A permittee shall notify the chief of police, in writing, of any change in hours or days of operation, and any change in maximum occupancy as certified by the San José fire department.
B. A permittee shall notify the chief of police in writing of any anticipated change at least one (1) working day in advance of the effective date of the expansion in the hours or days of operation, or expansion of the maximum occupancy.

6.60.440 - Uniformed guard requirement for special events.¶
A. A special event for purposes of this chapter shall be defined as any public entertainment use of a permitted premises in the downtown entertainment zone outside the days of operation of the downtown entertainment zone policing program.
B. If a permittee provides public entertainment on the permitted premises outside the days of operation of the downtown entertainment zone policing program, the permittee shall be required to have on the premises at least two (2) uniformed, state licensed security guards for every two hundred (200) person occupancy based upon the maximum occupancy as certified by the San José fire department in addition to any other security arrangements specified by the chief of police pursuant to Section 6.60.240.
