2.04.2800 - Establishment.¶
The department of human resources is hereby established and is the department of personnel established by Charter Section 807.

2.04.2810 - Department head.¶
The director of human resources shall be the head of the department of human resources.

2.04.2820 - Functions, powers and duties.¶
In addition to those general functions, powers and duties given to the department head by this chapter and other provisions of this Code, the director shall:
A. Perform duties related to the administration of city personnel consistent with the Charter, other provisions of this Code, other ordinances, resolutions and other acts of the council.
B. Administer the recruitment, examination, classification and personnel transaction process for job classifications and positions.
C. Administer the health benefits program, safety, and workers' compensation programs for all city employees.
D. Perform such other programs or functions related to employee resources and personnel matters as the city council or the city manager may, from time to time, authorize or request.
