§ 8.20.010. Prohibited where.¶
A. No utility shall erect, maintain, continue to use, operate, or continue to operate any pole, overhead wire, or associated overhead structure along, across, or partly across the following streets, except electric wires of a continuous lead along any intersecting street, maintained, used, and operated at such intersection or alley or established right-of-way:
San Mateo Avenue from El Camino Real to the westerly line of Huntington Avenue;
El Camino Real for its entire length;
San Bruno Avenue for its entire length;
Sneath Lane from Huntington Avenue to Sequoia Avenue.
B. No person owning real property on or along the streets described in subsection A shall suspend or permit a supplying agency to suspend from the premises any overhead service wire connected with any overhead distribution line along such streets.
C. If any such property owner shall fail to make the necessary changes in the electric wiring on the premises and thereby prevent the supplying agency from removing its overhead service wires from such part of such streets, the chief building official shall disconnect such service wires from the premises of such property owner. The cost of so doing shall become a lien upon the real property theretofore served from such service wires.

§ 8.20.020. Exceptions.¶
The provisions of Section 8.20.010 shall not apply to poles used exclusively for police or fire alarm boxes or any similar municipal equipment installed under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the director of public works, or to poles and overhead wires and associated overhead structures used exclusively for street lighting.
