§ 9.16.010 PROHIBITED ACTS.

It is unlawful for any person to willfully make to any police officer of the City Police Department any false, misleading or unfounded oral or written statement or report, knowing such statement or report to be false, misleading or unfounded, for the purpose of interfering with the operation of the Police Department or with the intention of misleading such police officer in the performance of his or her duties; provided, however, that this section is not applicable to a false report that a felony or misdemeanor has been committed, as covered by the provisions of Cal. Penal Code, § 148.5.

§ 9.16.020 VIOLATION - PENALTY.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of an infraction, which, upon conviction thereof, is punishable in accordance with the provisions of § 1.12.010.
