10.20.010 Crosswalks-Establishment, designation and maintenance.¶
The city traffic engineer shall establish devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway at all intersections where the city traffic engineer determines that there is particular hazard to pedestrians crossing the roadway. (Prior code § 25.03.050)
10.20.020 Pedestrians must use crosswalks.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a through street within three hundred (300) feet of a crosswalk other than within such crosswalk, except at a location where a school bus is stopped and is displaying flashing red lights. (Prior code § 25.03.051)
10.20.030 Crossing at alleys.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a through street at an intersection with an alley except within a marked crosswalk. (Prior code § 25.03.052)
10.20.050 Standing in roadways.¶
No person shall stand or otherwise be in any roadway if such action interferes with the lawful movement of traffic. This section shall not apply to any public officer or employee, or employee of a public utility, when necessarily upon a street in the line of duty. (Prior code § 25.03.054)
10.20.060 Pedestrians entering crosswalks.¶
It is unlawful for any pedestrian to enter a crosswalk where any signal device, school crossing guard, or school safety patrol officer is stationed giving warning that persons should not enter the crosswalk, and it is unlawful to proceed into such crosswalk until the signal device, school crossing guard, or school safety patrol officer indicates it is proper to proceed. (Prior code § 25.03.055)
