8.04.010 - Adoption.

A. The County of Los Angeles Health and Safety Code, codified as Title 11 of the Los Angeles County Code, as such code may be amended from time to time, except as hereinafter amended by this chapter, is adopted by reference as the Health and Safety Code of the city.

B. At least three copies of the current version of Title 11 of the Los Angeles County Code will be at all times maintained in the office of the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

8.04.020 - Definitions.

Wherever the Health and Safety Code of the city uses the following words or phrases they, respectively, shall mean the following:

"County" or "county of Los Angeles" when used to mean the geographic boundary of the county of Los Angeles means the city of Rolling Hills Estates.

"Person" is defined as in Section 1.04.030 of this Code.

8.04.030 - Health and Safety Code Section 11.16.090 amended—Domestic animals.

Section 11.16.090 of the health and safety code is amended to read in full as follows:

11.16.090. DOMESTIC ANIMALS. A person shall not keep any animal, fowl, or bird, wild or domestic, other than cats, dogs, canaries or birds of the psittacine family within thirty-five feet of any restaurant food establishment, residence or dwelling or other building used for the habitation of human beings or within one hundred feet of any school building, hospital building, or similar institution building. It shall be unlawful to keep or maintain a premises, yard, coop, or building, in which fowl or animals are maintained in foul or unsanitary condition. The provisions of this Section regarding distances shall not apply to accredited laboratories regulated by the State Department of Public Health. Any of said distances may be reduced by the City Council for good cause upon application by any affected party. Prior to any reduction of said distances, the provisions of Title 17 of this Code shall be complied with.
