10.60.010: PASSENGERS ON MOTORCYCLES AND BICYCLES:¶
No person shall ride upon a highway on either a motorcycle or bicycle on a portion of said vehicle which is not specifically designed for the carrying of passengers nor shall any person operating a motorcycle or bicycle upon a highway permit another to do so. (Prior code § 68901)
10.60.020: DRIVING THROUGH FUNERAL PROCESSIONS:¶
No driver of a vehicle shall drive between vehicles comprising a funeral procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles in such procession are conspicuously so designated. (Prior code § 68403)
10.60.030: NEW PAVEMENT:¶
No person shall ride or drive any animal or any vehicle over or across any newly made pavement or freshly painted marking on any street when a barrier or sign is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or sign stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed. (Prior code § 68404)
10.60.040: RESTRICTED ACCESS:¶
No person shall drive a vehicle onto or from any limited access roadway except at such entrances and exits as are established by public authority. (Prior code § 68405)
10.60.050: TAMPERING WITH TRAFFIC SURVEY DEVICES UNLAWFUL:¶
It is unlawful for any person to move, molest, tamper with or damage any survey device used for the purpose of making traffic investigations located on any city highway. (Prior code § 68406)
10.60.060: PARKING NEAR SCENE OF FIRE, ACCIDENT OR DISASTER:¶
No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle on either side of the highway within one thousand feet (1,000') of any fire, accident, or disaster, except persons whose presence is required by investigating officers, public employees and/or public utilities employees on official business or whose duties require their presence. 10.60.070: AUTHORITY TO REMOVE SIGNS OBSTRUCTING VIEW:¶
The traffic engineer is authorized to remove any sign which constitutes an obstruction to the vision and view of traffic by a driver of a motor vehicle at the entrance to any intersection. (Prior code § 68408)
10.60.080: PERMISSIVE VEHICLE OPERATION:¶
No person shall operate any vehicle or cause or permit any vehicle operated or controlled by him to park or stand on any lands or premises within the city without having written permission from the owner of such lands or his agent, or the person in lawful possession thereof; provided, however, that this section shall not be applicable to persons having visible or lawful business with said owner, agent or person in lawful possession. Upon request of a peace officer, any such written permission shall be displayed to the peace officer. (Ord. 2138 § 1, 1990: prior code § 68700)
10.60.090: OPERATION IN EXCESS OF DESIGNATED NOISE LEVEL:¶
No person shall operate on lands or premises in the city any motor vehicle which makes sounds and noise in excess of the noise level provided in section 23130 of the Vehicle Code of the state. (Prior code § 68800)
10.60.100: SPARK ARRESTER AND MUFFLER REQUIRED:¶
Any motor vehicle operated on property within the city of Redlands shall be equipped with a spark arrester and muffler as defined in section 27150 of the Vehicle Code of the state of California. No person shall operate a motor vehicle unless it is so equipped with a spark arrester and muffler. (Prior code § 68801)
10.60.110: EXEMPTED VEHICLES:¶
The provisions of sections 10.60.090 and 10.60.100 of this chapter shall not apply to the following vehicles:
A. Authorized emergency vehicles;
B. Vehicles operated upon parking lots or structures open to the public or private parking lots or structures and operated solely for ingress to and egress from such parking area and parking;
C. Vehicles operated upon property primarily used for motor vehicles retail or wholesale sales, service or repair, manufacture, or distribution, but operated in a manner not to be offensive and which shall not disturb the peace and quiet of the general neighborhood;
D. Vehicles generally used exclusively for commercial, industrial, or office purposes in a manner that shall not be offensive and shall not disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood;
E. Vehicles operated upon private roadways or easements necessary for ingress to or egress from property used for those purposes designated in subsections B, C, and D of this section, and for no other purpose;
F. Vehicles operated upon public streets and highways;
G. Vehicles operated on property actually used for residential purposes, where such motorcycles or motor driven cycles are on said property with the express or implied invitation of the owner or occupant and when such use is solely for ingress to and egress from said residential property.
