1.16.010: AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE WORK:

Persons confined in the city jail of the city under judgment of imprisonment rendered in a criminal action or proceeding for violation of any ordinance may be required by an order of the council or the mayor to perform labor on the streets or other public property or works within the city. (Prior code § 40301)

1.16.020: COUNTY JAIL SENTENCING:

Any person sentenced to imprisonment or sentenced to pay a fine in default thereof to be imprisoned, for the violation of any ordinance of the city now in force or that may be hereafter adopted, may be imprisoned in the county jail of San Bernardino County by judgment so pronounced by the recorder or judge pronouncing sentence. (Prior code § 40401)
