Redding Municipal Code Ch. 10.02 False Alarms

A. The city will pay a reward of five hundred dollars for the furnishing of information leading to the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons violating Section 148.1 of the State Penal Code pertaining to the willful and malicious reporting or transmitting false alarms of fire, or the willful false report of the existence of bombs or other explosives in any public or private place, respectively.

B. In case of disputes, the city council shall be the sole judge of the person or persons entitled to any such reward, after hearing the report of the chief of police and the fire chief, and the total reward paid for any one offense, or series of offenses, shall not exceed five hundred dollars.
