3.16.010 - Flammable liquid storage.

Aircraft fuel and all other flammable liquids, including any liquid used in connection with the process of doping, shall be stored so as to be in accordance with the requirements of the laws of the state and to meet with the approval of the state fire marshal; provided, that no such fuel or liquid shall be stored or kept inside any hangars, except liquids used for cleaning aircraft, in quantities of not to exceed five gallons and in containers approved by the state fire marshal and except lubricating oils in sealed cans or in containers likewise approved and equipped with draw-off devices.

3.16.020 - Doping in hangars.

The process of doping shall not be carried on in any hangars, except minor patching of not to exceed one hundred and forty-four square inches, or except under special circumstances, with express permission of the airport managers.

3.16.030 - Heating equipment and fuel-burning appliances.

All heating equipment and fuel-burning appliances installed in any structures shall be in accordance with the specifications of, and location designated by, the airport managers.

3.16.040 - Oil heating.

The heating of oil shall be restricted to steam, hot water, hot air or electric heaters.

3.16.050 - Disposal of flammable waste.

Metal receptacles with self-closing covers shall be provided for the disposal of oily waste, rags and other rubbish, and the contents thereof shall be removed at least daily.

3.16.060 - Fire prevention duty.

Every person using the airports or their facilities in any way shall use the utmost caution to prevent fire.

3.16.070 - Fueling or draining aircraft.

No aircraft shall be fueled or drained while its engine is running, or while in a hangar or other enclosed place. Fueling shall be done in such manner and with such equipment that adequate connections for the grounding of static electricity shall be continuously maintained during such time.

3.16.080 - Storage of compressed flammable gas.

No cylinders or flasks of compressed flammable gas shall be kept or stored except at places designated, by the airport managers and the state fire marshal, for that purpose.

3.16.090 - Cleaning motors or aircraft parts.

The cleaning of motors or other parts of aircraft shall not be carried on in any hangars, except with nonflammable substances. If flammable liquids are employed for this purpose, the operation shall be carried on in the open air.

3.16.100 - Smoking areas.

No person shall smoke, or ignite any matches or cigarette lighters, in any hangars or buildings, except in offices, waiting rooms or buildings in which smoking is specifically authorized by the airport managers.

3.16.110 - Repairs on storage floors of hangars.

Repairs on storage floors of hangars shall be limited to inspections and replacements of parts.

3.16.120 - Automobiles in hangars.

No automobiles or similar motor vehicles shall enter or remain inside hangars except in connection with, and then only while engaged in, necessary operations.

Hangar entrances shall be kept clear at all times.

3.16.140 - Cleaning floors.

Floors shall be kept clean and free from oil, and no volatile flammable solvents shall be used for cleaning floors.

3.16.150 - Litter accumulation.

No boxes, crates, rubbish, paper or other litter shall be permitted to accumulate in or about any of the buildings or premises.
