§ 4.60 REQUIRED.¶
No person shall own, harbor, control, keep or bring any dog over the age of four months into the city unless the dog has attached:
(A) A valid metallic license tag issued by the authority of the county;
(B) A valid metallic license tag issued by the city; or
(C) A valid metallic license tag issued by another city or county of the state so authorized to issue.

§ 4.61 WHEN LICENSE TO BE OBTAINED.¶
Every dog owner having a dog over the age of four months shall obtain a license:
(A) Within 30 days of the date upon which the dog is over the age of four months;
(B) Within 30 days of the date of ownership of a dog which was over the age of four months upon the date of ownership; or
(C) Within 30 days of the date of loss of a dog license or tag.

§ 4.62 APPLICATION.¶
Application for a license required by this article shall be made to the Tehama County Animal Care Center.

§ 4.64 PAYMENT OF FEES REQUIRED; DISPOSITION OF MONIES COLLECTED AND FINES FOR VIOLATIONS.¶
(A) Each owner seeking the issuance of renewal of a dog license shall pay a fee according to a fee schedule established by resolution of the City Council.
(B) Violation of any part of this article shall be an infraction and punishable as such.
(C) The fee or fees collected shall be deposited in the general fund of the city.

§ 4.65 CONTENTS OF APPLICATION.¶
The application for the license shall contain a description of the dog for which the license is to be issued and shall set forth the sex, approximate age, color and breed of the dog, if known, and the address at which the dog will be kept.

§ 4.66 TRANSFERABILITY.¶
Any license issued pursuant to the application required by this article shall apply only to the animal for which license is sought and shall not be transferable, nor shall the license tag issued be used on any other dog.

§ 4.67 PERSONS EXEMPT FROM PAYING LICENSE FEES.¶
(A) Any owner of a dog bred or raised to be a guide dog or any owner of a dog used by a blind person as a guide dog shall be exempt from payment of those fees required by § 4.64. The owner shall not, however, be exempt from the licensing requirement of § 4.60 or the vaccination requirement of § 4.68.
(B) Any owner of a dog bred or raised to be a hearing dog or any owner of a dog used by a deaf person as a hearing dog, shall be exempt from payment of those fees required by § 4.64. The owner shall not, however, be exempt from the licensing requirement of § 4.60 or the vaccination requirement of § 4.68.
(C) The requirement of this article shall not apply to a dog owner who is not a resident of the city and who remains within the city for a period of less than 30 consecutive days in any calendar year.

§ 4.68 PROOF OF VACCINATION A CONDITION OF ISSUANCE; VETERINARIANS TO FURNISH PROOF…¶
(A) No license required by this article shall be issued for any dog unless the dog is effectively vaccinated with canine anti-rabies vaccine. As a condition of issuance of a license, the licensing agency shall require from each owner proof of currently effective vaccination of each dog sought to be licensed, the proof to be in the form of a veterinarian's certificate.
(B) A veterinarian administering an anti-rabies vaccination shall provide the owner of a dog so vaccinated with a certificate, indicating the date of vaccination and description of the dog vaccinated.

§ 4.69 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE RECEIPT AND TAG; CONTENTS.¶
Upon the payment of the appropriate license fee, each owner shall receive from the licensing agency a numbered receipt and a metallic tag. The tag and receipt shall bear the same number and both shall indicate the year of expiration for which the license fee was paid.

§ 4.70 DISPLAY OF LICENSE TAG.¶
Each owner who obtains a license and tag pursuant to the terms of this article shall affix the tag to a collar, harness or other suitable device and shall be responsible for displaying the collar, harness or device on the dog for which the license was obtained at all times during which the dog is outside the owner’s enclosed premises.

§ 4.71 EXPIRATION DATE OF LICENSE.¶
Each license required by this article, whenever issued, shall, in accordance with its issuance, expire one, two or three years from the date of issue.

§ 4.72 REPLACEMENT OF LOST TAG.¶
Should a license tag be destroyed or lost, the person to whom the license tag was issued may obtain a duplicate thereof upon application to the licensing agency upon payment of the cost of replacing the same, which cost shall be from time to time fixed by resolution of the City Council.
