§ 5.11.010. Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter, the following words have the meaning respectively ascribed to them in this section:

A. As used in this chapter, ambulance means any vehicle designed, equipped or used to carry or transport sick or injured persons. Ambulance does not include any vehicle which is designed, equipped and used only for convalescent transportation (wheelchair car-van) or any vehicle which constitutes a basic life support ambulance ("BLS ambulance") or critical care transport ("CCT") as defined by the Riverside County Code.

B. Ambulance driver means any person employed to drive or actually engaged in the driving of an ambulance.

C. Ambulance operator means any person engaged in the business of carrying or transporting sick or injured persons by means of ambulance.
