Porterville Municipal Code Art. I Building Code

A. Adoption of the 2025 Edition of the California Administrative Code Title 24 Part 1; 2025 California Building Code Part 2, Volumes 1 and 2; the 2025 California Residential Code Title 24 Part 2.5; the 2025 Energy Code Title 24 Part 6; the 2025 Edition of the California Historical Buildings Code Title 24 Part 8; the 2025 Edition of the California Existing Buildings Code Title 24 Part 10; the 2025 Edition of the California Referenced Standards Code Title 24 Part 12; and the 2025 Edition of the Wildland-Urban Interface Code Title 24 Part 7.

B. That certain codes in book form to which more particular reference is herein made, regulating the construction, erection, alteration, repair, removal, demolition, conversion, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of buildings in the City of Porterville, together with the amendments thereof, herein specifically set forth, together with the penalty for violation herein set forth to be known as the Building Codes compiled by and adopted by the International Code Council, Inc., together with the following appendixes: J, O, P, and Q of the 2025 California Building Code; BF, BO, CI, and CJ of the 2025 California Residential Code Part 2.5; thereto are hereby adopted and enacted by the Council of the City of Porterville, to all intents and purposes and to the same effect as if each and every sentence, paragraph, word and clause in said codes mentioned are referred to herein or therein were fully and specifically set forth herein, with the exception of the penalty provision thereof. Reference is hereby made to one (1) copy of said California Building Code, 2025 Edition, compiled by and adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials, heretofore filed in the office of the Building Official of the City of Porterville and said California Building Code is by reference adopted herein as provided by law.
