Sec. 66-91. - General requirements.¶
(a) Each vehicle for hire shall have available at all times a copy of the city business license issued for that vehicle.
(b) Each vehicle shall have displayed in clear view of all passengers the driver of the vehicle's original city driver permit issued by the business license division.
(c) When applicable, in addition to a city driver's permit, the driver of a vehicle for hire shall have in their possession a valid chauffeur's license or other applicable license issued by the state department of motor vehicles.
(d) While driving a vehicle for hire, each driver must have in their possession their valid California Driver's License issued by the department of motor vehicles.
(e) Each vehicle for hire shall display valid California state license plates or show evidence that formal application has been made to the department of motor vehicles, prior to any vehicle being placed into service.
(f) Each taxicab for hire shall have affixed to the outside of each side of the vehicle a sign clearly identifying the licensed operator and the operator's telephone number.
(g) Each taxicab shall post the current rate schedule, which shall be on file with the city clerk, in clear view of all passengers.

Sec. 66-92. - Unauthorized parking.¶
It shall be unlawful for the operator, driver or attendant of any vehicle for hire to cause or permit a vehicle for hire to be parked upon any street and highway located within the city any longer than necessary to load and unload passengers, except:
(a) While the vehicle for hire is engaged by a passenger;
(b) While the vehicle for hire is actually paid for;
(c) While the vehicle for hire has permission of a property owner or occupant or real property to stand or park a vehicle for hire on the street or highway adjacent to the property of the owner or occupant.
Any vehicle for hire parked on city property in violation of this section may be towed away and stored by a police officer, person or private towing service designated by the chief of police under the direction of a police officer. The owner of any vehicle for hire so removed and stored may reclaim it, but such owner shall first pay the cost that is incurred in removing and storing such vehicle.

Sec. 66-93. - Misrepresentation of identity.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person soliciting patronage for any taxicab at any place in the city to misrepresent, by word, sign, hatband, insignia, badge, or by any other means, the true identity of the owner of the vehicle to be used.

Sec. 66-94. - Exclusive use by passenger.¶
When any taxicab is engaged by any person, he/she shall have the exclusive right to the full use of the passenger compartment. It shall be unlawful for the owner or driver of such vehicle to solicit or carry additional passengers therein without obtaining the consent of the person first engaging the vehicle.
