Sec. 6-7.01. - Definitions.¶
For the purposes of this chapter, certain words and phrases are defined as follows:
(a) "Camp space" shall mean any place where one or more tents or temporary shelters are erected or maintained or where one or more trailer coaches are parked for living or sleeping purposes for one or more persons.
(b) "Squatter" shall mean a person who settles on land, enclosed or unenclosed, without a bona fide claim or color of title to the property, or without the express consent of the owner, owner's agent, or other person who is legally in charge of the land.
(c) "Squatter camp" shall mean an area of land occupied by a squatter.
(d) "Trailer coach" shall mean any camp car, trailer, or other vehicle, with or without motive power, designed and constructed to travel on the public thoroughfares at a maximum allowable speed and in accordance with the provisions of the California Vehicle Code, and designed or used for human habitation.
(e) "Trailer site" shall mean a space provided for each trailer in a trailer park or camp.

Sec. 6-7.02. - Scope.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all unincorporated areas of Plumas County.

Sec. 6-7.03. - Prohibited acts.¶
(a) It shall be unlawful to occupy any squatter camp on public or private property.
(b) It shall be unlawful for an individual to occupy any camp space, trailer coach, or trailer site on public or private property for a period of seventeen (17) consecutive days or more unless such camp is served by an approved sewage disposal system and an approved water supply pursuant to Chapters 6 and 9 of Title 6 of the Plumas County Code.

Sec. 6-7.04. - [Reserved].¶
Sec. 6-7.05. - Violations and enforcement.¶
(a) A violation of this chapter is an infraction subject to punishment as set forth in Section 1-2.01 of the Plumas County Code. Each day a violation occurs is deemed a separate violation for which a citation may be issued. A continuing violation shall constitute a public nuisance and may be abated, either summarily or otherwise, pursuant to Chapters 15, 18 and 19 of Title 8 of the Plumas County Code.
(b) The provisions of this chapter shall be enforced by any peace officer, as defined in the California Penal Code, and by the Director of Environmental Health and employees designated by the Director. Such designated employees are authorized to issue citations for violations of this chapter.

Sec. 6-7.09. - Squatter camps.¶
It shall be unlawful to occupy any squatter camp on public or private property in the County.

Sec. 6-7.10. - Camping at Lake Davis.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to camp overnight closer than 200 linear feet at right angles to the high-water line of Lake Davis.

Sec. 6-7.10.1. - Reserved.¶

Sec. 6-7.10.2. - Camping at Taylorsville Camp Ground.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to camp or stay overnight at the Taylorsville Campground in excess of thirty (30) day in any one (1) calendar year.
The fees and deposits for overnight camping at the Taylorsville Campground shall be established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. The deposit for keeping a horse at the Taylorsville Campground shall be established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 6-7.10.3. - Camping on Pacific Gas & Electric Company lands.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to camp or stay overnight on any Pacific Gas & Electric Company lands, except in an area designated for that purpose.

Sec. 6-7.11. - Exemptions.¶
(a) The provisions of this chapter shall not be construed to apply to any trailer coach or campsite referred to in an Act Regulating Auto and Trailer Parks, Part II of Division XIII of the Health and Safety Code of the State, nor in an Act Regulating Camps where five (5) or more persons are employed, Chapter 1 of Part 9 of Division 2 of the Labor Code of the State; nor shall the provisions of this chapter be construed to apply to any supervised public park or public camp or picnic ground operated and/or maintained by the Federal government, by the State or any agency of the State, or by any political subdivision or municipality.
(b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any trailer coach parked in dead storage and not used for living or sleeping purposes.

Sec. 6-7.12. - Enforcement.¶
(a) The Sheriff's office is hereby authorized and empowered to enforce the provisions of this chapter and, for the purposes of securing such enforcement, is hereby given the right to enter upon any public or private property in the County to inspect such accommodations or installations thereon or therein which may be affected by the provisions of this chapter.
(b) The Health Officer is hereby authorized and empowered to enter upon any public or private property in the County to inspect such accommodations or installations thereon or therein which may be affected by the provisions of this chapter.
