Sec. 5-4.01. - County Subsidized Foster Home Program established.

There is hereby established, under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court, the Plumas County Subsidized Foster Home Program.

Sec. 5-4.02. - Subsidized foster home defined.

For the purposes of this chapter, "subsidized foster home" shall mean a temporary foster home for receiving and temporary care purposes pending court disposition of the cases of minor children.

Sec. 5-4.03. - Designation: Termination.

The Judge of the Juvenile Court shall designate not more than two (2) subsidized foster homes to provide shelter and temporary care for abandoned and delinquent minor persons coming under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court law. The designation of such homes shall be terminable at any time by the Judge of the Juvenile Court.

Sec. 5-4.04. - Transfer of children to foster homes.

Any child placed in a subsidized foster home shall be promptly removed therefrom when a permanent foster home is available or when other disposition of such child is made by the Juvenile Court.

Sec. 5-4.05. - Care reimbursements.

(a) For maintaining and having available such foster home or homes, the Judge of the Juvenile Court is hereby authorized to order a reasonable monthly reimbursement from County funds to the keeper of such home or homes.

(b) In addition to the monthly reimbursement provided for in subsection (a) of this section, the keeper of such foster home shall be paid out of County funds a reasonable sum per day per minor as ordered by the Judge of the Juvenile Court for keeping a minor in such home.

(c) Appropriate orders for the payment of all maintenance and care provided for by this section shall be made monthly by the Judge of the Juvenile Court.

Sec. 5-4.06. - Effect of provisions on State laws.

The provisions of this chapter shall in no way affect the provisions for payment for care and maintenance to foster parents pursuant to the provisions of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the State.

Sec. 5-4.07. - Use of unclaimed bicycles and toys for prevention of juvenile delinquency.

Any bicycles or toys, or both, in the possession of the Sheriff which have been unclaimed for a period of at least three (3) months, instead of being sold at public auction to the highest bidder pursuant to the provisions of Section 2080.5 of the Civil Code of the State, may be turned over by the Sheriff to the Probation Officer or the Welfare Department for use in any program of activities designed to prevent juvenile delinquency.
