Sec. 5-7.01. - Fairgrounds.¶
Firearms and hunting knives shall not be allowed on the fairgrounds unless such weapons are in the possession of peace officers performing their official duties or are being used by organizations with prior authorization from the Sheriff's office to use the fairgrounds firing range.
For the purposes of this section, a hunting knife shall be defined as a knife with a blade over three and one-half (3½") inches in length which either has a fixed blade or a blade which can be locked into an open position.
The prohibition set forth in this section shall apply to firearms, whether or not they are licensed to the owner thereof, and whether or not the firearm or hunting knife is concealed or unconcealed.

Sec. 5-7.02. - Feather River College-Courthouse Annex.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm or to carry a firearm on the premises described in this section, unless the discharging or the carrying is done by peace officers performing their official duties. It shall further be unlawful for any person to carry or to use any firearm, crossbow, longbow, knife, or any other weapon or device for the purpose of hunting, killing, slaying, trapping maiming, or otherwise injuring any deer, rabbit, squirrel, bird, or any other form of wildlife on the premises described in this section. The area covered by this prohibition is that approximately five-mile square area surrounding the Feather River College and the Courthouse Annex, more specifically described as follows: from the south edge of the Snake Lake Road on the north to State Highway 70 on the east, to 200 feet south of Spanish Creek on the south, to the western boundary of the west line of Sections 4, 9, and 16 of Township 24 North, Range 9 East, M.D.B.& M.

Sec. 5-7.03. - Unlawful to discharge firearms within 150 yards of occupied buildings…¶
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, other than the owner, person in possession of the premises, or a person having the express permission of the owner or person in possession of the premises, to discharge any firearm or other deadly weapon within 150 yards of any occupied dwelling house, residence, or other building or any barn or other outbuilding used in connection therewith. This subsection shall not apply to those persons named in subsections (b), (c), and (d) of Section 12031 of the Penal Code of the State.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm within 500 feet of the Chester Diversion Dam Complex, excluding the flood overflow channel, as posted by signs to that effect which refer to this Code section. The shooting of any such sign shall also be a violation of this subsection.

Sec. 5-7.04. - Loaded firearms: Prohibited areas.¶
Within the meaning of subsection (f) of Section 12031 of the Penal Code of the State, public streets and other public places within the County are "prohibited areas" for the carrying of loaded firearms.

Sec. 5-7.05. - Exceptions: Violations.¶
Except as provided for in Section 12031 of the Penal Code of the State, every person who violates Section 5-7.03 and/or Section 5-7.04 of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor as set forth in Section 1-2.01 of Chapter 2 of Title 1 of this Code.

Sec. 5-7.06. - Application.¶
Sections 5-7.07 through 5-7.11 shall apply only to privately owned land located within an area bounded by State Highway 70 on the south, Beckwourth-Genesee Road (County Road 111) on the east, U. S. Forest Service Road 24N06 on the north and Grizzly Road (County Road 112) on the west, and shall not apply unless the land is immediately adjacent and contiguous to residential property, or enclosed by fence, or under cultivation, or posted with signs forbidding trespass, displayed at intervals of not less than three (3) to a mile, along all exterior boundaries and at all roads and trails entering the private land.

Sec. 5-7.07. - Purpose.¶
The provisions of Sections 5-7.06 through 5-7.11 are enacted pursuant to Section 25840 of the Government Code for the purpose of regulating the use of firearms in certain areas where their use would be extremely dangerous to persons or property.

Sec. 5-7.08. - Exemptions.¶
The provisions of Sections 5-7.06 through 5-7.11 shall not apply to the use of a firearm by a peace officer acting in the performance of his duties as a peace officer or to a private citizen acting in the defense of persons or property, or in any shooting range for which an unrevoked written permit has been granted therefor by the Board when the shooting is done in accordance with the rules established by the owner for the use of the range.

Sec. 5-7.09. - Entry on private land with weapon.¶
It is unlawful for any person to enter upon any privately owned land with a firearm or other hunting weapon in his possession without the written consent of the owner of the land in his possession.

Sec. 5-7.10. - Shooting across private land.¶
It is unlawful for any person to shoot, discharge or fire any bullet, arrow or other projectile into, across or above any privately owned land without the written consent of the owner of the land in his possession.

Sec. 5-7.11. - Penalty for violation.¶
Every person who violates any of the provisions of Sections 5-7.06 through 5-7.10 is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred and no/100ths ($500.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a term not to exceed six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
