7-2-1: DEPOSITS OF INJURIOUS MATERIAL:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to dump or deposit upon any highway, freeway, alley, street, off street parking lot, park, playground, or any public place in the city, any glass bottle, glass, nails, tacks, hoops, wire, cans or any other substance likely to injure any person, animal or vehicle. 7-2-2: DEPOSITS OF OFFENSIVE MATERIAL:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit or dump any garbage, swill, cans, bottles, papers, ashes, refuse, the carcass of any dead animal, offal, trash or rubbish or any noisome, nauseous or offensive matter in or upon any highway, freeway, alley, street, off street parking lot, park, playground, or any public place in the city. 7-2-3: DUMPING OF ROCKS OR DIRT:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit or dump any rocks or dirt in or upon any highway, freeway, alley, street, off street parking lot, park playground, or any public place in the city without the express consent of the superintendent of public works. (Ord. 846, 11-17-1960)
7-2-4: REMOVAL REQUIRED:¶
Any person who drops, or permits to be dropped, deposited or thrown upon any of the public thoroughfares mentioned in this chapter, any destructive or injurious material shall immediately remove the same or cause the same to be removed. (Ord. 846, 11-17-1960)
7-2-5: VEHICLES SPILLING LOAD ON THOROUGHFARE:¶
No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any public thoroughfare, unless the vehicle is so constructed or loaded as to prevent any of its contents or load, other than clear water, from dropping, spilling, sifting, leaking or otherwise escaping therefrom.
No vehicle loaded with garbage, swill, cans, bottles, waste, papers, ashes, refuse, trash or rubbish, or any other noisome, nauseous or offensive matter, shall be driven or moved unless the load is covered with a cover sufficient to prevent the load, or any part of the load from spilling upon the public thoroughfare. This section does not prohibit a rubbish vehicle from being without cover while in the process of acquiring its load, nor does this section prohibit a rubbish truck from being without cover; provided, that said rubbish truck is so constructed as to prevent its load or any portion of its load from spilling. 7-2-6: DUMPING IN WATERWAYS PROHIBITED:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to dump, place, throw or deposit any waste, refuse, trash or debris into Lumsden Park Pond, Hangtown Creek or Cedar Ravine Creek or any tributaries thereof. (Ord. 1657, 9-10-2013)
7-2-7: DEPOSIT OF MATERIALS IN TRASH CAN OR CONTAINER:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit any material in a trash can or container which is owned, rented or controlled by a person or firm other than the person making the deposit unless the person depositing the material has been authorized to do so by the person or firm owning, renting or controlling the trash can or container.
Refuse must be in the container and lids must be kept closed at all times.
It shall be unlawful for a person or firm owning or renting the trash container to allow refuse to overflow onto the ground.
It will be unlawful for household garbage to be disposed of in the sidewalk trash containers. (Ord. 1042, 9-11-1973)
7-2-8: CLEANLINESS OF SIDEWALKS:¶
Each holder of a business license shall be responsible for the cleanliness of their sidewalks. (Ord. 1042, 9-11-1973)
