§ 4.24.010. Franchise granted to Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad and Union Pacific…¶
A franchise is hereby renewed for the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad Company to continue and maintain and operate an existing industry spur track across Compton Boulevard, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south side of Compton Boulevard, distant thereon 55 feet westerly from the west line of vacated Ohio Avenue; thence northerly 80 feet in a direct line to the north line of Compton Boulevard distant westerly thereon 55 feet from the prolongation northerly of the westerly line of vacated Ohio Street. § 4.24.020. Term—Compensation.¶
This franchise shall be for a term of five years from May 4, 1982. The grantees shall pay to the City the sum of $25.00 for said crossing for said purpose on the first of January succeeding the date of this chapter and on the first of January each year thereafter. (Prior code § 21-79)
§ 4.24.030. Right of acquisition of property preserved.¶
The grant of this franchise shall in no way or to any extent impair or affect the right of the City to acquire the property of the grantee by purchase or through the exercise of the right of eminent domain.
