§ 17.44.010. Intent – Description.

This zone is intended to accommodate a medical-oriented campus with a focus on medical/ hospital uses, supported by appropriate commercial and lodging uses, workforce housing, and open space areas for congregating and socializing. The envisioned mix of uses is a large hospital or medical office as the anchor, enlivened by part-time and full-time residents and access to a limited set of supporting uses related to daily goods and services. The MEDFX zone is applied to the Palmdale Regional Medical Center environs, around the Kaiser Permanente facility on East Avenue S, and a future medical district on Palmdale Boulevard and 40th Street East. This zone implements the Health and Wellness General Plan land use designation. (Ord. 1603 § 4 (Exh. I), 2023)
