§ 92.28.00. "CO" cannabis overlay zone.

  • A. Purpose. The purpose of the "CO" Cannabis Overlay Zone is to assist in diversifying the economy of the city of Palm Springs by establishing an area that will support cannabis-based businesses. The "CO" Cannabis Overlay Zone is intended to provide for the development of cannabis-based businesses in an area where impacts to established neighborhoods will be reduced. Zoning incentives and other similar incentives are encouraged in the overlay zone to as an inducement for cannabis-based businesses to locate within the boundaries of the zone.

  • B. Locations. The "CO" zone may be established only in conjunction (as an overlay symbol) with other zones. The locations of the "CO" zone are depicted on Exhibit "A," incorporated at the end of this section.

  • C. Uses. Uses permitted shall be as provided in the underlying zone upon which the "CO" zone is overlaid.

  • D. Development Standards. Development standards shall be as provided in the underlying zone upon which the "CO" zone is overlaid, except as otherwise provided in this Code.

  • E. Compliance with Regulations. Cannabis Facilities in the "CO" zone shall be required to adhere to all regulations set forth in Chapter 5.55 of this Code.
