15.10.010 - California Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings adopted.

The California Code for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, with appendices thereto, and all subsequent editions thereto, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, is adopted, incorporated and made a part of this code by reference without further publication as though fully set forth in this chapter and is declared to be the abatement of dangerous buildings code of the city; and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the city limits. The provisions contained therein are enacted in order to provide a just, equitable and practicable method of enforcement and shall be considered to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedies provided by law including, but not limited to, those remedies provided by the California Building Standards Code, Uniform Housing Code and any other applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the abatement of conditions in buildings or structures, conditions which from any cause endanger the life, limbi health, morals, property, safety or welfare of the general public or occupants of such buildings or structures.

15.10.020 - Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or of the California Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings as enacted in this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction for any such misdemeanor shall be punishable as set forth in Section 1.12.010 of this code by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1 ,000.00) or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
