3.04.010 - Claims presentation procedures.

A. Every claim for money or damages against the city must be presented to the City Clerk or the City Clerk's designee. B. The following claims presentation procedures are established under Government Code Section 935: 1. Every claim against the city for damages or money, when a procedure for processing such claims is not otherwise provided by state law, shall be presented within the time limitations and in the manner prescribed by Government Code Section 910 through 915.2 notwithstanding the exceptions set forth in Section 905 of the Government Code. 2. Each such claim is subject to Government Code Section 945.4 relating to the prohibition of suits in the absence of the presentation of claims and action thereon by the Council.
