Chapter 16.44 — UNDERGROUND UTILITIES

16.44.010 - Exceptions.

All utility distribution facilities, including but not limited to electric, communication and cable television lines, within any residential or commercial subdivision shall be placed underground, except as follows: A. Equipment appurtenant to underground facilities, such as surface-mounted transformers, pedestal- mounted terminal boxes and meter cabinets, and concealed ducts; B. Metal poles supporting street lights. (CCCC§ 96-10.002)

16.44.020 - Responsibility of subdivider.

The subdivider is responsible for complying with the requirements of this chapter and shall make the necessary arrangements with the utility company involved for the installation of the facilities. The advisory agency may grant exceptions as provided in Chapter 16.12 if topographical, soil or other conditions make underground installation of the facilities unreasonable or impractical. (CCCC§ 96-10.004)

16.44.030 - Application of chapter.

These requirements apply to those portions of any existing public streets abutting the subdivision. (CCCC§ 96-10.006)
