§ 18-44. Parking of oversized vehicles limited. [Amended

(a) No person shall park or let stand any oversize vehicle, whether or not attached to a trailer or other device, on a public street for more than two hours except while loading or unloading property unless additional time is reasonably necessary to complete such work; or when such vehicle is parked in connection with or in aid of the performance of a service to or on property in the block in which such vehicle is parked, and additional time is reasonably necessary to complete such service. A permit for the parking of an oversize vehicle may be issued by the Chief of Police pursuant to Section 18-44.1 of this article.
(b) For the purposes of this section, an "oversize" vehicle is defined as any motor vehicle, bus, camping trailer, fifth wheel travel trailer, house car, motorhome, recreational vehicle, slide-in trailer, trailer, trailer bus, van camper, and/or vehicle greater than twenty-two (22) feet in length, or seven (7) feet in width, or 7 1/2 feet in height. Such measurement shall include all fixtures, accessories, or property, with the exception of single-post radio antennas and side mirrors.
(c) Notwithstanding Subsections (a) or (b) above, no personal watercraft, commonly known as jet skis, wet bikes or sea-doos, or boat, regardless of size, whether on or off a trailer, shall be parked or left standing on a public street for more than two (2) hours, except while same is being loaded or unloaded. A permit for the parking of a boat or personal watercraft may be issued by the Chief of Police pursuant to Section 18-44.1 of this article.

§ 18-44.1. Parking of oversize vehicles and personal watercraft – Permit. [Amended…¶

(a) A permit for the parking of oversize vehicles, boats, or personal watercraft during the time prohibited under this article may be issued by the Chief of Police or the Chief's representative upon application thereof. Each application shall be filed with the Chief of Police or the Chief's representative upon a form to be furnished by the City and shall contain the following:
- (1) The name, residence, and phone number of the applicant;
- (2) The license number, make, model, and type of vehicle or craft for which the permit is requested;
- (3) The name and current address of the registered owner of said vehicle or craft;
- (4) The dates for which the permit is requested. Such dates shall consist of two twenty-four-hour periods, to commence in all cases at 6:00 p.m. and to end in all cases at 6:00 p.m. the following day;
- (5) The application shall be accompanied by a fee of an amount to be established or modified by resolution of the City Council, which fee shall be nonrefundable;
- (6) Such additional information as the Chief of Police or the Chief's representative may require;

(7) The application shall be signed by the applicant under penalty of perjury.
(b) The Chief of Police or the Chief's representative shall issue a permit hereunder if upon investigation the Chief of Police determines that the health, safety, and general welfare of the neighborhood will not be adversely affected thereby. Such permit shall be displayed on the driver's side dashboard, windshield, or instrument panel of the vehicle, boat, or personal watercraft for which it is issued.
(c) In no event may a permit be issued under this chapter more than once a month for the parking of the same vehicle, boat, or personal watercraft.
