§ 12.48.010. Highway permit ordinance adopted.

Except as provided in this chapter, Division 1 of Title 16 of the Los Angeles County Code, the "Highway Permit Ordinance," as adopted, amended and in effect as of October 26, 1981, is adopted as the highway permit ordinance of the City.

§ 12.48.020. Copies of ordinance on file.

Three copies of the "Highway Permit Ordinance" of the County of Los Angeles have been deposited in the office of the City Clerk of the City, and they shall be at all times maintained by the Clerk for use and examination by the public.

§ 12.48.030. Deletions.

The following provisions of the "Highway Permit Ordinance" of the County of Los Angeles, as adopted by the City are deleted:

A. Chapter VII, entitled Special Provisions for Construction Permits;

B. Chapter VIII, entitled Special Provisions for Excavation and Encroachment Permits. The provisions regulating excavation permits are set forth in Chapter 12.12, entitled Excavations;

C. Chapter X, entitled Special Provisions for Overhead Structures;

D. Chapter XI, entitled Special Provisions for Overhead Structures.

§ 12.48.040. Amendments.

The "Highway Permit Ordinance" of the County of Los Angeles, as adopted by the City, is amended as follows:

A. Section 901.1 is added to the "Highway Permit Ordinance" to read as follows:

Section 901.1. The term Highway, as defined in Section 113, relating to Special Provisions for Moving Permits shall, for the purposes of this Chapter, include any public highway, public street, public way, or public place in the City of Norwalk, either owned by the City or dedicated to the public for the purpose of travel.

B. Section 903.1 is added to the "Highway Permit Ordinance" to read as follows:

Section 903.1. The County Road Commissioner is authorized to issue permits, as provided in Title 10, as to any highway designated as a Truck Traffic Route pursuant to Title 10 of the Norwalk Municipal Code, except for the movement over highways, as so defined, of buildings or structures, as defined in the Building Code, which are being relocated or moved for storage to or from any site in the City of Norwalk. As to all highways not so designated as Truck Traffic Routes, such permits shall be issued by the City Engineer, who shall, for the purposes of enforcing that Ordinance, be deemed to be the County Road Commissioner referred to therein.
