§ 17.01.180. Certificate of occupancy permit. ¶
To assure compliance with the parking requirements and all other provisions of this title, a certificate of occupancy shall be obtained from the Building and Safety Division or other appropriate agency before:
A. Any new building is initially occupied or used;
B. Any existing building is altered, or a change of type or class of use be made; or
C. A change of use of any unimproved premises be made.
No person shall occupy, use or alter any building, or change any use, or type or class of use, under such circumstances that a certificate of occupancy is first required, without first applying for and obtaining such certificate of occupancy.

§ 17.01.190. No conflicting licenses or permits shall be issued. ¶
All departments, officials, or public employees vested with the duty or authority to issue permits or licenses where required by law shall conform to the provisions of this title. No such license or permit for uses, buildings, or purposes in conflict with the provisions of this title shall be issued. Any such license or permit, if issued in conflict with the provisions hereof, shall be null and void. (Prior code § 27-28.2; Ord. 21-1722 § 2)
