10.40.010 - Restrictions.¶
Pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 21967, it is unlawful for any person to ride, by skateboard, coasters or similar device, upon any public street within the city limits in violation of the following restrictions:
A. Such use shall not occur between sunset and sunrise;
B. Persons riding such devices shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable;
C. No person riding a skateboard, coaster or similar device shall attach the same or himself to any other vehicle;
D. Persons riding any such devices shall yield the right-of-way to all motor vehicles and pedestrians;
E. No person shall ride any such devices when approaching or upon the crest of a grade or a curve in a street where the view of such person is obstructed within such distance as to create a hazard from an approaching motor vehicle;
F. No person shall ride any such devices on any street in the historical district of Nevada City. The term "historical district" shall have the meaning given to it in Title 17 of this code;
G. No person shall ride a skateboard, coaster or similar device on any sidewalk;
H. Except as hereinafter provided, any person riding any such devices shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle under the California Vehicle Code, except those provisions which by their very nature can have no application.

10.40.020 - Violation—Penalty.¶
Any person who shall be convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of an infraction and may be punished by a fine not to exceed fifty dollars.
