9.04.010 - Firearm defined.¶
In this chapter, "firearm" includes any rifle, shotgun, revolver, pistol, or other device designed to be used as a weapon, from which is expelled through a barrel, a projectile by the force of any explosion or other form of combustion, as defined in Penal Code Section 16520(a), as may be amended from time to time.

9.04.020 - Unlawful to discharge firearm within town.¶
No person may fire or discharge a firearm within the town nor may a parent, guardian or person having the care, custody or control of a minor permit the minor to fire or discharge a firearm within the town. This section shall also apply to air guns, BB guns, and other types of guns from which a hard, solid projectile is propelled.

9.04.030 - Exceptions to prohibition.¶
Section 9.04.020 does not apply to the use of a firearm by:
A. A peace officer or person in the military service in the discharge of his or her duties;
B. A person using a firearm in the defense of his or her person or the life of another person; or in defense of his or her livestock or domestic animal; or his or her property to the extent authorized by law; or otherwise authorized by permit or license (other than a hunting license) issued under state or federal law;
C. A person using a firearm as authorized by permit by the town.

9.04.040 - Violation—Penalty.¶
A person who violates Section 9.04.020 is guilty of an infraction. An infraction is punishable as provided in Section 1.24.030.
