Sec. 2-5.00. Architectural Review Committee.

a.The Architectural Review Committee is dissolved effective January 15, 2026. The powers and duties of the Architectural Review Committee are hereby assumed by the Planning Commission.

b.The Charter’s Visitor Accommodation Facility (VAF) development standards set forth in City Charter, Appendix A to Section 8.1 remain unchanged. Charter Appendix A to Section 8.1, Section 38-151A(b)(8) shall require two hearings before the Planning Commission.

c.References to the Architectural Review Committee contained in master plans, specific plans, area plans, land use plans, neighborhood plans, design standards, and guidelines may be ministerially updated to reflect the Planning Commission has taken over the role of the Architectural Review Committee. Sec. 2-5.01. Special powers and duties.

The Architectural Review Committee shall be empowered to:

a.Review projects to ensure the promotion of orderly development, ensure high quality design that is harmonious with project surroundings, implement the General Plan as well as neighborhood plans, and to preserve and promote the visual character of the City.

b.Review and oversee minimum submittal requirements for administering architectural review. (Ord. 3646 § 4, 2022; Ord. 3599 § 5, 2019. Formerly 2-4.01)
