Chapter 1000 — STREET SYSTEM Section 1 - Main Street

Pursuant to the Resolution of Recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Milpitas adopted under the authority of Section 65715 of the Government Code of the State of California, all of that certain street within the City of Milpitas, commonly known as State of California, Route No. 5, or the Oakland Highway or the San Jose-Oakland Highway, is hereby officially named for the purposes of the City of Milpitas and shall hereafter be known within said City as "Main Street."

Section 2 - Curtis Avenue

XI-1000-2.01 - Description

Pursuant to the Resolution of Recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Milpitas adopted under the authority of Section 65715 of the Government Code of the State of California, at the request of the Western Pacific Railroad Company, all of the certain private road within the City of Milpitas running parallel with and adjacent to the north fence of the Ford Motor Company factory and connecting the yard office of the Western Pacific Railroad Company and Main Street, which private road is the property of the Western Pacific Railroad Company and which private road is commonly known as Western Pacific Avenue or Railroad Avenue, is hereby officially named for the purpose of the City of Milpitas and shall hereafter be known within said City as "Curtis Avenue."

XI-1000-2.02 - Intent in Naming

The Council hereby declares that it is hereby naming said private road at the request of the owner thereof for the sole purpose of eliminating a multiplicity of names which has resulted in confusion to the users of said private road. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to be a dedication or an acceptance of a dedication of said private road or an assumption of liability for the condition of said road or an assumption of responsibility for its care and maintenance.

Section 3 - Winsor Street

Pursuant to the Resolution of recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Milpitas adopted under the authority of Section 65715 of the Government Code of the State of California, all of that certain street within the City of Milpitas, commonly known as the Old Oakland Road or as Railroad Avenue is hereby officially named for the purpose of the City of Milpitas and shall hereafter be known within said City as "WINSOR STREET."
