6-5.01 - Special permits required.¶
No person, association, or corporate body shall keep or permit the keeping of bees within the City without first securing a special permit therefor.

6-5.02 - Prohibition on keeping of bees.¶
No permit for the keeping or harboring of bees shall be issued to any person, association, or corporate body where bees are to be kept or maintained within 300 feet of any residence or place of business which is inhabited or occupied within the City; excepting, however, the residence or business of the person, association, or corporation keeping or harboring bees.

6-5.03 - Special permits: Applications.¶
Prior to the issuance of any special permit for the keeping or maintaining of bees in the City, the applicant for such special permit shall submit in writing to the Council an application setting forth the following information:
(a) The name and address of the applicant;
(b) The location and dimensions of the lot or parcel of land where the applicant proposes to keep bees;
(c) The distance of the proposed location of the bees from the nearest residence or place of business existing within the City adjacent to such proposed location; and
(d) The number of hives and the quantity of bees within each hive the applicant proposes to keep.

6-5.04 - Public nuisances.¶
No special permit for the keeping or harboring of bees shall be issued where such harboring or keeping of bees will create a public nuisance.

6-5.05 - Exceptions.¶
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply where the bees proposed to be kept and maintained are kept or maintained in an enclosure and are not permitted to fly at large.

6-5.06 - Violations: Penalties.¶
Any person, association, or corporate body which shall keep or permit the keeping of bees on any premises in the City without securing a special permit as provided in this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Five Hundred and no/100ths ($500.00) Dollars for each day bees shall be kept in violation of the provisions of this chapter.
