Chapter 1.24 — USE OF TOWN — Mammoth Lakes Municipal Code

1.24.010. - Designation of Town logo.¶

The Town logo is a design used for the purpose of symbolically representing the authority of the Town and the capacity of its officers, employees, and agents as representatives of the Town.

1.24.020. - Use in election campaign prohibited.¶

No person shall use the Town name or logo, or any representation thereof, for purposes of supporting or opposing the nomination or election of any Town or other public office or for purposes of supporting or opposing any ballot measure, nor include such Town logo on any writing distributed for purposes of influencing the action of the electorate, or any part thereof, in any election. This section shall not be applicable to writing issued by the Town and pursuant to law.

1.24.030. - Use by persons other than authorized officers and employees.¶

(a)

No person other than an officer or employee of the Town, shall use the Town logo or any representation thereof or the words "Town of Mammoth Lakes" for any purpose except to the extent authorized to do so.

(b)

No person shall use the Town logo or any representation thereof or the words "Town of Mammoth Lakes," for any malicious purpose or for the purpose of personal financial gain.

(c)

Use of the Town logo or representation thereof or the words "Town of Mammoth Lakes" by any person, corporation, or organization shall be subject to the prior approval of the Town Manager and the conditions herein provided.

(d)

Use of the words "Town of Mammoth Lakes" in a manner that suggests to a reasonable person Town sponsorship or endorsement of an event or activity shall be subject to the prior approval of the Town Manager and the conditions herein provided.
