10.14.010 - Prohibition against bicycling, skating, rollerblading and operating or…

scooters in designated areas.

No person shall rollerskate, rollerblade or operate or ride upon a bicycle, skateboard, scooter (whether propelled by human power, battery, or motor) or similar device on the premises, sidewalks or within the off- street parking facilities of any privately or publicly owned places which are open to the public, including, but not limited to, any places owned, operated, controlled, or under the jurisdiction of the county of Madera.

10.14.020 - Posted notice.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 10.14.010, this chapter shall not apply to a specific property unless the property owner posts and maintains conspicuous signs on the property with lettering not less than one inch in height which shall read substantially as follows:

 Bicycling, roller skating, rollerblading, and riding or operating skateboards, scooters, or similar devices on the premises, sidewalks or in the parking lot of (indicate facility) is forbidden by law. MCC 10.14.020

10.14.030 - Penalties.

Violations of Section 10.14.010 of this chapter are deemed infractions punishable by fines as set forth in California Government Code Section 25132.
