Los Altos Municipal Code Ch. 6.36 Miscellaneous Health Regulations

Adequate sanitary toilet facilities shall be made available for workers on all construction operations. Wherever privies must necessarily be installed to comply with the provisions of this section, they shall be constructed in accordance with the specifications of the health officer of the county and shall be maintained at all times in a sanitary condition and fly-proofed. Upon failure to comply with this section, the building inspector of the city is empowered to require discontinuance of all construction operations.

Any person pumping out or cleaning a septic tank, privy, privy vault, cesspool, seepage pit or other facility intended for use for the disposal of sewage and not connected to the Los Altos sewer system shall, within ten (10) days after the last day of the month during which said pumping was completed, file or cause to be filed with the building inspector of the city a report upon forms which will be furnished upon request by the city, giving the dates, names of occupants, addresses, volumes of effluent, points of disposal for each pumping operation and such other information as may be deemed necessary by the building inspector.

No person may engage either in the business or in the occupation of treating swimming pool waters, or of cleaning filters used or usable in connection therewith, or of maintaining swimming pools or facilities or appurtenances thereof unless he is certified or registered according to Santa Clara County Ordinance No. NS-514 and until proof of such certification or registration is given to the chief building inspector.
